HISTORY OF “8 MINUTES TO A BETTER BACK”
I have been a personal fitness trainer since 1991, and in all those years the most common problem amongst my clientele has been the bad back. When I initially started investigating it, like most trainers, I discovered a few exercises that helped. However, the help was temporary. Like most people, I believed a bad back was just something someone had to live with. Sure, there was surgery and cortisone shots but those were extreme measures with limited success and were only for people in constant pain. There was also physical therapy and chiropractic care, but again, those remedies were temporary. Then one beautiful summer day, about 10 years ago, I was playing basketball in a park in New York City when my back went out, and, man, that pain was severe. My back went out a few more times after that, and I hated being stuck in bed enveloped in pain. I started gathering more information, discovering more exercises, discarding many and keeping the few I found most effective, as well as doing some inventing of my own. The result – “8 Minutes to a Better Back.” You remember those old “Hair Club for Men” commercials? When the guy would say, “I’m not just the President, I’m also a member.” Well that’s me. I do these exercises 6 days a week. My life has improved tremendously. I hope this routine is as helpful to you as it’s been to me. I’m confident that it will be.
